First I installed my card and the drivers via the Add/Remove Programs window. All work correctly and I could get the 1440x900 resolution. Then I removed the card and used the integrated GMA 950 a while. Then I reinstalled the GeForce and now I cant get the resolution, Im stuck at 640x480. Ive installed the drivers via the the Add/Remove, but it doesnt work in detecting my display. I downloaded the drivers from Nvidia page, but when I run the sh Nvidia-versionnumber.run, it says that sh can-t open it. Ive tested a lot of ways to install/uninstall the drivers but nothing works, Im running Ubuntu Hardy 64 Bit, do you know a way to have the driver to get the 1440x900 resolution?

the nvidia drivers from their website are not shell scripts. They are bin files. So when you run them, dont use the sh command.

run it like this : sudo ./Nvidia-versionnumber.run

Also you have to stop your gdm before running this script. To do that press Ctrl+Alt+F1. Then login. Then type

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop. Aftter this run the Nvidia file

Have to tried 'EnvyNG' it installs the very latest drivers. Make sure you have no other graphics drivers installed, the open a Terminal and submit then following command :

sudo apt-get install envyng-gtk

Once it is installed open up EnvyNG and install the Nvidia driver. When it is installed restart Ubuntu when prompted and all should be fine.

It is most important you remove all other solutions you tried to solve this first.
