Does McAfee Virus Scan from AOL lead to Blue Screens of Death?

Question

I've been getting a lot of problems from McAfee Virus Scan from AOL...and also a lot of Blue Screens of Death...

Unfortunately, like most people, the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH provides me with no information and only annoyance.

But I know that some (I get a lot of types) blue screens of death are caused by my bad DELL memory (sorry, just want to express my anger).

I think McAfee AOL Edition causes driver and registry problems.

If so, what FREE virus protection should I use...I don't really care how much CPU it takes (please mention it though)...but mainly about how well it keeps out viruses and spyware...perhaps a firewall will be nice.

Well for a good free antivirus program I would reommend AVg, it s very reliable and does an excellent job. It doesn't use alot of CPU usage and you really don't notice any effect on your computer when it is running. There is also a anti spyware built in AVG that is also very good.

As for your problem with the Blue Screen of Death there maybe something more then just MacAfee causing this so the link below should help you figure that out as it teaches you how to actually read and understand the Blue Screen and how to fix the errors. It is a very useful site.
