If you're talking about Windows Media Player, Microsoft no longer has its own online music store, so you'll have to select one of the others out there. Walmart.com has one, and Amazon.com does also with a pretty handy downloader application. Don't get them from iTunes if you want to play them on Windows Media Player, because it won't let you simply convert a protected (.m4p) iTunes purchase to .mp3.
Once you've made the purchase from one of those other places, you may need to add it to your WMP library by selecting File/Add to Library, OR you can drag the files themselves into the WMP library list & it should add it from there.
Good luck!

While in the media player you can go to the media center and download songs right on to your media player or if you download a song all you need to do is scroll the music file into the media player but it has to support WMA or MP3
