All .exe downloads are sticking at 100% or 0 seconds left in all browsers.Please help me find a solution?

All my downloads with extension .exe sticks at 100% and browser still shows it as download in progress.the zip and rar files downloads smoothly. Help me to find a solution

i am running windows xp with sp3

You must have installed some sort of protective software preventing exe files from completing the download, or its the AV.

What AntiVirus are you using? Try disabling the AV temporarily and try again.

Also uninstall browser extension/plugins, specially download accelerators, etc

Try to use another browser like Chrome. Is that all .exe file won't downloaded or just one?

It sounds like a virus detector or spyware protector is scanning the files and not letting it open...once a file is downloaded it will get scanned...check your settings or try turning off detectors and see if it works...
