I have 4 tubes that I must graph values for. Each has 6 sets of data over a period of 10 minutes (in 2 minute intervals, starting from 0, then 2 min, then 4 min, then 6 min, then 8 min, and finally 10 min.) The 6 sets of data for the 4 tubes are readings of their absorbance on a spectrophotometer. The absorbance readings are placed on the y axis, and the time in placed on the x axis. I am having trouble getting 4 unique lines of data on the one graph, however. I would like to have a separate line for each tube. Please help, thanks.

Select an empty range 5 columns by 7 rows.

Insert a scatter chart with lines and watch the chart while you enter the data.

Enter 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 in the left column starting in the second row of the selected range.

Enter label for each tube in the top roe of the selected range starting in the second column and fill in the readings down the column.

You will have the chart with a separate line for each tube and should have enjoyed watching the chart develop.

Note: The secret for getting the chart wizard to give you what you want is the label row at the top, the blank cell at the top left, and more rows than columns.

First step is for organization purposes really. Set up the first row or column, depending on what direction you want the Excel page to be laid out. This row or column should be A = Date or blank B = Company A C = Company B D = Company C E = Company D If You want document reading from top to bottom for the companies uses Row 1,2,3,4,5 instead of Column A, B, C, D, E The Dates will be placed next to or under the date place holder cell in sequential order. The sales numbers will be placed next to or under the corresponding companies. Insert Tab, then do Chart. This should insert a blank chart. Choose Select Data either from the menu or by right clicking on the chart. This will show you a grey box with two which sections one marked Legend Entry (series) the other marked Horizontal (category) Axes Label. Click Add under the Legend Entry and choose Company A name cell for the series name, then the sales range cells for Company A's sales. Repeat for Company B, C, and D When done with the companies click the Edit button under horizontal, and then select the Date cells. If you would prefer the dates being color coded instead of the companies you can switch them using the switch rows and columns button.
