Heres my system specs:
Mac type: MacBook Pro (15 Inch)
Purchased: 2009
Mac version: 10.5.8
Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB

Ok so heres my problem:

I've been running on Leopard for god knows how long and now i've FINALY decided to upgrade. I've looked at the system requirements for Lion and they match up perfectly. BUT i've been reading horror stories on the internet about how installing Snow Leopard can ERASE your hard drive and how Lion seem's to be slow, ram consuming, Over heating on Macbooks, ect. So my question is, Do you have the same mac as me, if so, does Lion run well? Is it safe to install Snow Leopard? How has your experience been? Have updates cleared up the problems for you?

Thanks!
Also, is it worth it to update iLife?

Before you do ANY OS upgrade, you should back up your computer. REGARDLESS! I suggest subscribing to an online backup service like Backblaze (http://www.backblaze.com/) and have that back-up your data before doing any work on your computer. That way, if you are the one in a million that does have a problem when you upgrade to Snow Leopard, it won't matter, since you'll have a backup.

Your Macbook Pro should work very nicely with Lion.

Backup your Macbook Pro and then start upgrading!

We have an old MacBook with 2GB RAM and Lion is excellent on it. We have several Macs all running Lion without any problems. The older ones feel a bit faster if anything. This will be the experience for millions of Mac users. The Snow Leopard installer will only update the system software files and does not touch anything else.

Lion in simple terms makes your mac a huge iPad, without touch demonstrate screen. do not understand why you would be wanting to, yet right here: circulate to Apple, and acquire the "App shop" application. Open the appliance, and examine wherein contain your iTunes shop account. seek for and acquire the OS.
