CRM stands for customer relationship management. It is a business application that helps businesses get more business by better managing their relationships with their customers. As every business knows, its easier and cheaper to retain customers as compared to getting new ones. CRM helps you do both, retain customers and add to your customer base.

There are many aspects to a CRM solution but the key is to have as much current data on customers located in one place from where it can be accessed and use that data to generate actionable information.

The information generated through CRM systems helps you in many ways -

1) Reaching out to your target marketing audience; this helps you save money and get better returns on your marketing efforts.

2) You can put into action your customer-centric business philosophies with the help of CRM.

3) Empower your customer-facing staff with the right information at the right time so that they can resolve customer issues, cross-sell, up-sell, and at the same time ensure that the customer enjoys the personalized attention.

4) Mobile CRM now allows your field staff to stay connected with the office staff and clinch deals without delay.

5) Obtain customer feedback to improve your products and services.

To select a CRM system, you need to take into consideration your business requirements, IT capabilities, finances, then compare vendors for the software offered, maintenance support, upgrades, and other such things.

You can choose between an on-demand and on-premise solution.

CRM (of course) stands for Customer Relationship Management. The CRM functionality is built into most large ERP programs, but is available through other CRM-focused solutions. You can find information about CRM solutions at:

www.sap.com

www.siebel.com

www.salesforce.com

For large organizations, Siebel and SAP are the industry standards. If you are a smaller/medium-sized company, you may want to try a first-look at Salesforce.

Best of luck.
