Question:
Question about FL Studio?
2009-01-28 09:54:34 UTC
I'm thinking about buying fl studio because I'm using my mom's computer (a mac with garageband) to make my music for my parodies. She wants me to stop using it, so I want fl studio, which I hear is the best music maker for PC.

My question is: Can it do rock music and other kinds of music?

I do parodies, so the program needs to be able to do all kinds of music, not just techno.

If you want to see some of the stuff I've done, my youtube name is AquaticSh33p.

Thank you so much!

You can do any kind of music in FL Studio although you'll need at least the producer edition to record with ASIO. I've been using the producer edition for years now and I love it, but I'm doing mainly electronic music, which it is great for. I've only recorded a few tracks with electric and acoustic guitars and although it's very capable, there are other programs that might be easier for that (Ableton Live, SONAR... these are more expensive though).

Try the demo of FL Studio to see how you like it. The demo is basically the XXL version with saving of projects disabled and some whitenoise on the Sytrus synth etc. I'd recommend getting at least the Producer Edition if you want to record audio (I originally bought the Fruity Edition but I couldn't do with some of the features that were missing like full automation and audio support), the XXL version only makes sense if you really like Sytrus and/or Directwave, as these cost more than the $100 extra you pay for XXL.

I actually don't use the sounds that come with FL Studio much. Instead I use tons of VST instruments available as freeware on the internet. Samples and soundfonts for use in FL Studio can easily be found online as well.

I truly have tried all of them. FL Studio is the final for rap/hip hop, and in case you have a MIDI controller, you're set for many genres of music. additionally, pc's are sooo plenty greater effective than Macs. Even for music production, and you may improve a working laptop or pc for a decrease priced value devoid of procuring for yet another pc, as you may ought to for a Mac.

you can still rock out with FL studio

get a good sound card and an ASIO driver

the drums in FL sound almost identical to real ones

and you can plug in a guitar, put on headphones and your mom wont have to hear "that racket"
