Is there anything built in with ubuntu like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie? Something I could just enter a code in the terminal like GIMP?

If so please tell me what to enter in the terminal or where to download, how to download, and how to get to it.

Btw I'm on the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 :)

Pitivi might be what you're looking for.

Install it with the terminal command

sudo apt-get install pitivi

Avidemux is one, it is not as easy to use as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie but it does the job.

You can download it using Add/Remove

or if you really want to install it using the terminal then here:

sudo apt-get install avidemux

Another is Cinelerra, but I have heard it is hard to use and install; however it is suppose to be one of the most powerful video editors out there for Linux.

I dont think anything standard comes with Ubuntu but you should be able to find something through the add or remove software utility. The problem is finding open source programs that can read many video files. Most video file formats are propietary so you may not be able to find what you need for the files you need to edit. I havent given it a concerted effort to look though so check the forums on ubuntus site or other linux forums.

those courses won't paintings natively on Ubuntu. The Lightworks enhancing suite is anticipated to have a Linux launch interior right here couple of months, so save a watch on that. till then, the excellent (IMO) video editors for Linux are Openshot and KDEnlive.
