Look for an icon. Your computer may already have that program installed. Login and click the word start, then find the word programs and look to see if you have microsoft office listed. If you see it, just click it and open it. You might already have it. Just about all computers have windows already installed. There are many microsoft programs and you may find it on there already. If it is not there. Use google.com and type ;in the following in the search box microsoft office 2011 download. Look at the results. Find it, click it, and it should download for you.

Check to see if you have Microsoft Office Starter 2010 installed from the factory in your programs list (you can find that in the control panel). If it is there, you MUST uninstall that first. If that does not fix it, restart your computer, right click the install file or CD, and click run as administrator.

First step should always be a fresh restart and then try again. You might be using a wrong version. Right click on my computer(edit: and check on properties)and check what version of windows you are using 32 or 64 bit. Make sure you are installing the right version of office.

Did you buy this Office software or is it a "free" download from a pirate site? If it's a legitimate copy you bought, then go to the next paragraph for a fix. if it's pirated, there's no fix for it.

Update your computer with all of the latest Windows updates. It sounds like you're missing a critical patch that is stopping your installation. Just go to microsoft.com and install the latest updates. once finished, reboot, and then try your installation again.
