Does anyone know how to convert an .avi file to an .imovieproject file.?

I have a macbook pro and trying to read the files from a SD card. Does anoyone know how I can make this stuff work and edit it on iMovie as an .imovieproject file.

well, first of all, you simply can't convert the files say from .avi to .imovieproject why? because .imovieproject is a file that is readable only by imovie; secondly, if you really want to convert it, then just put the your movie in the imovie... and save - you'll have your .imovieproject file. but remember - it has to be with the .avi file because imovie just links all the files you are loading into the program and you can't watch the movie on another computer with the only .imovieproject file - you'll need the.avi movie, too

you cant convert any file to a program specific file. That file extension is a proprietary file designed for that program and that program only.
