You will not crack an encrypted password. That's the whole idea of them.

They are like a ratchet, they will only go around one way. When you open an encrypted password it changes the encryption to a new one.

I read an apt description one day on them. If you stick a lump of steak [password] into a mincer [encryption program] what comes out is mince [encrypted password]

But you can't stick mince back through the front and get a lump of steak out the other end!

In other words a password cracker cannot undo an encrypted password to get back to the original password.

RAR Password Cracker v4.12

This program is intended to recover lost passwords for RAR/WinRAR archives

of versions 2.xx and 3.xx. The program finds by the method of exhaustive

search all possible combinations of characters ("bruteforce" method), or

using passwords from lists ("wordlist" or "dictionary" method).

Self-extracting archives and multivolume archives are supported. The program

is able to save a current state (you can interrupt the program at any time,

and restart from the same state later). Estimated time calculator allows you

to configure the program more carefully.

There is software for it, but if the password you entered is longer than 6 symbols I doubt you will be able to get access to it.

Try googling for "brute force winrar password", don't know if there are any free alternatives.

So..

I use Winrar. Got it here: http://j.mp/1p3PrFw

To unzip compressed files or folders you have to use WinRar.
