I'm creating an application in visual basic at home where I do not have Access. Therefore, I'm wondering if anyone knows about any free database software where I can create a database and then use it as my data source in visual studio 2005.

MySQL is the most popular database software used on the web.

It is very robust and works well as a backend to many languages including VB, PHP and much more.

You can find MySQL and other free database software titles here:

try www.openoffice.org. It's an MS Office clone, and has the full suite of programs.

It's worth a shot! :)
