Explorer kept disconnecting from the internet after an hour's use so the Microsoft website told me to restart IE7.

I followed the instructions on their website and now my homepage, which was previously a blank page, opens to the HP games page. This is the page my computer used to open up to when I first bought it because it is a HP computer.

This is the link that pops up when I open IE7:
http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&tp=iehome&locale=EN_SG&c=63&bd=PAVILION&pf=desktop

Please don't say it's a virus because I have a current and paid subscription to Norton Antivirus and my firewall is always up. And please don't say that I didn't click Apply before I clicked OK on the Internet Options tab. I've already covered that. Repeatedly.

My question is, what do I do to change it back to a blank home page? Much thanks!

Select "Tools" then "Internet Options". The first tab shows you what your home page is set to, and there is an option to use a blank page.

Report the problem to Microsoft via Internet. It might be the problem with the driver comparability issue. Or the firewall of window is so sensitive, it automatically shutdown when you went on some websites considered harmful...did it say IE stop working? etc, etc etc....Did you have your firewall set to high?

Try medium-high and do what you did before. If the problem continue still, have the MS tech look into your computer to see the cause and they will update your window for you to bring your window up-to-date...

What you need to is check your computer for adware, spyware, or malware. They have a tendency of not being detected by your antivirus and will "hijack" your homepage. It will usually take you to another site trying to get you to buy something unnecessary. I would suggest Spybot-Search and destroy and Ad-Aware. Both are free programs that work very well. I use them myself all the time and they are really free not those trial for 15 days you have to buy for it to actually work software.

Ad-Aware 2007 - http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html

Spybot - http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10122137.html

I would suggest downloading from these site links I gave you to avoid downloading more spyware or adware.
