Question:
Taskbar Missing?
2007-11-12 13:57:18 UTC
Okay. So everytime I sign into my computer, the taskbar shows up for about 20 seconds, but then disappears. I also have no start menu. I've tried typing explorer.exe into 'run,' and that doesn't work. I've tried right clicking the toolbar when I first sign on and that doesn't work. And I've gone to control panel and tried unchecking "auto-hide" but it turns out it wasn't even hidden in the first place. What do I do?

Thats odd your computer is doing that. It may have to do with autohiding as you said. When you signon quickly right click in the center of the toolbar and click "Lock toolbar" it shouldn't move after that.

Also, if you press the windows symbol by the ctrl key your bar should pop up. That may be another way to click on it after it starts up to lock the toolbar.

If this does not solve it check your monitor settings, you may have expanded the size of the screen so that the part of the screen with the toolbar is not visible. There are buttons on your monitor itself to change the size of the screen.

check if you have chenged the size on the taskbar (just like you can do with the windows) so it has dissapeared. if you move the arrow to the bottom of the screen, you should get one of those resize-arrows...
