Seeders have 100% of the content and only uploading to leeches (peers).
Leeches have less than 100% of the content and are downloading from Seeds and other leeches and uploading to other leeches.
An upload slot is an upload connection to a leech.
Peer Exchange (PEX) is a way to find additional seeds and leeches through communication with others that you are connected to on the torrent. Instead of just receiving info on available seeds and leeches from the tracker, you can now also receive this info from other individuals. This allows connections to seeds and leeches not listed through the tracker.
DHT (Distributed Hash Table): A distributed tracker that works similarly to a regular tracker in that you announce to it and get back a list of peers that are transferring the same .torrent file as you. Because DHT is distributed, there is no single point of failure, so even if a single node disconnects from DHT, the tracker will continue to work (unlike with normal trackers, where if the server goes down, it becomes unusable). DHT can be thought of as a backup tracker

This is the detailed meaning :
A seed(er) is a client on the U Torrent network that has a complete copy of a particular archive. For any archive to work, there must be at least one seed to download from originally. Sometimes under certain circumstances, there may be no one seeder but enough people with all the parts to make up the whole archive, this is called a distributed copy. It is HIGHLY recommended that once you have gotten an archive you leave the U Torrent client running for at least the amount of time that it took you to download the archive to help ensure that others will also be able to get it. Share and Share alike!
A leech(er) is a client on the UTorrent network that does not have a complete copy of a particular archive yet. When any new client begins downloading an archive, they are a leecher until they have finished downloading the entire archive and then become a seeder. The name ‘leecher’ here is an unfortunate use that has become too commonly used even though it is really not applicable to what the meaning is. A leecher normally means someone who downloads without uploading (takes but does not give.) But here, a leecher is part of the network and is uploading as well, many times more KB than they download. But hey, it’s worth the new meaning once you appreciate the vast resources that UTorrent brings to you.
The DHT Network is for sharing contact information, so people downloading the same file can discover each other.
It is like the Six Degrees of Separation idea, where if you go from a friend to a friend's friend to a friend's friend's friend, within six friend jumps, you can have a connection between any two people on Earth. (Or even more fun is Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, doing the same with actors in films.)
The DHT Network lets computers do that. Your computer would have a small number of friends ("peers"), and when it needs to find the people downloading the same Torrent⢠file you are, it would start with its peers (friends), who would direct you peers that are closer to what you want, and those would direct you ever-closer to the one you want. After repeating the process a few times, you'll find the peer with the information you need.

Seeders are those who have just downloaded trhe torrent completely and shares its with those who are on the process of downloading...
Leachers are those who is sucking the data cgnal fron seeders..Actually the nearer the seeders are, the higher your upload slots is...

seeders have the full file and have it up for upload, leachers are you, people downloading, if they have parts you need you can get it from them, and if you have what they need they get if from you

in simple seeders are ttose who have the source, from whom you download the data..... and leechers are those who are downloading the data..
so wen u download always see that seeder are more than leecher.... hence you'll get a good download speed...... if seeder and less in number from leecher(that happens to often) then download speed gets slow!!!!!
hope it is clear to understand!!
