I am not sure what you are asking about... but I hope following information will help you.

For all text file formats, Excel converts only the active sheet. To convert the other sheets, switch to each sheet and save it separately.

Whether you are importing or exporting, you may want to learn more about these text converters. For more information, see the following:

"Text formats" in the Help topic, File format converters supplied with Excel.

"Text file formats" in the Help topic, Formatting and features that are not transferred in Excel file format conversions.

If you have problems converting to and from text file formats, see the Help topic, Troubleshoot converting file formats for more information and possible solutions.

You can convert from a Microsoft Excel file to a text file by using the Save As command (on the File menu) in Excel. For more information, see the Help topic, Save a workbook in another file format.

You can convert a text file created from another program to a Microsoft Excel file by using the Open command (on the File menu) in Excel. When you open a file, Excel converts the file automatically.

You can also import a text file with the Import Data command (Get External Data submenu on the Data menu). When you import a text file, Excel displays the Text Import Wizard, which provides additional flexibility and options for deciding how to import the text file, and then converts the file. For more information, see the Help topic, Import a text file.

Once you import the text file, you may want to change the decisions you made in the Text Import Wizard. For more information, see Change how an imported text file looks.

You can change the separator character used in both delimited text files and comma separated values (CSV) text files.

Change the delimiter in a delimited text file

For a delimited text file, you can change the delimiter from a Tab character to another character in the second page of the Text Import Wizard. From the same wizard page, you can also change the way consecutive delimiters, such as consecutive quotes, are handled.

Change the separator in a CSV text file

Click the Windows Start menu.

Click Control Panel.

Open the Regional and Language Options dialog box.

Click the Regional Options Tab.

Click Customize.

Type a new separator in the List separator box.

Click OK twice.

Note After you change the list separator character for your machine, all applications will use the new character. You can change the character back to the original character by using the same procedure.

Highlight the cells you want to convert, either individually or by column or by row then right click and choose format cells then choose text or general depending on what you want, it will convert it to text.

If you don't like to use your mouse to change the format the command is also in the commands in the top, it's called format.

Or if you just want to make the numbers instead of formulas you can highlight and choose copy then paste special and choose values to make them numbers instead of formulas.

If you're talking about formatting the cell from general or accounting to text....right click on the cells you want to change, go into format cell-the first tab is where you change the information. Just click on the choice showing text.

If you talking about something else, give me more information on what your doing.

If you want the words one, two, three etc then you create a formula

=choose(cell ref,"one","two",...........

see excel help for complete explanation and example

H, In C1 enter =B1+A1 Then it incredibly is going to artwork. easily in B1 formulation two hundred and one hundred fifty have become character via fact of inverted commas. so the fee in b1 is a character. so in case you eliminate the inverted commas and enter the formulation like =if(a1>3500,two hundred, one hundred fifty) then it incredibly is going to artwork with the conventional sum function yet once you retain inverted commas with the two hundred and one hundred fifty then answer could be what i discussed above. attempt it. Its working for me. :o)
