Hi there,
I recently updated to vista from a *disc* my friend gave me. The PC has been working fine for months now. But, I decided I wanted to revert back to XP due to personal preference.

Every time I put the XP disc in to boot from it loads fine, and says fress any key to continue. So I do, then it loads the disc and gets to the partition screen which says 'c' to create, 'd' to delete etc...

No matter what I do from this point on I get the Blue Screen of Death.. Here is the error message I receive. (see link below)

My PC is an ACER (Pre-Built) only thing modified is my Nvidia GFX card. The PC is an Aspire E500 - BB7S

Any help will be greatly apprechiated and best answer will be choosen ASAP. Please help me.

From your screen shot, It looks like you may need to remove your graphics card & run off your old graphics system while you reinstall XP. All so you might need to reset the BIOS before you start the installation of XP, by removing the CMOS battery for 10min then replacing it. This should fix the problum.

Good Luck!!

The drives need to be configured and connected EXACTLY as they were for the dual boot install. The second screen of the install is the best place to ask for a repair, but if you have failed from the recovery console this may have damaged the system beyond repair. The other option is a completely new install, when you reach the second screen you should delete all the partitions you can see, then create new and install to the new partition.

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info
