cannot open multiple pdf's from multiple computers?

Question

Ok this is a little strange. We have 5 computers at our office and all but mine has trouble opening pdf files (mostly from email.) Sometimes they will open, other times we get error messages about how the file type is not supported or is corrupt. The difference between my computer and the others is that I'm running firefox and use thunderbird as an email client. We all have the same version of Adobe Reader. The other computers run IE9 and check email through the browser.

Here's the strange thing. A particular file may open on one computer but not on another. Sometimes I can save the file to the desktop and it will open that way. Other times when I save the file it shows 0mb (even though I can see the size of the file as an attachment and know for a fact it is not empty.)

This seems to be an issue with IE but I cannot find a good answer on how to fix it. I've tried all the steps I can find including updating, clearing temp file, saving locally, etc.

Please only reply if you can provide a solution to the problem and not just a work around. These folks are not open to change. :)

Okay this has happened with me too, Adobe Reader isn't a great PDF reader, uninstall it. Clean up your computer with Advanced System Care. Then get Foxit Reader, its an awesome PDF reader with all the features of Adobe plus a few of its own like Tabbed Browsing, Document History(It means it will continue from the page you last stopped reading), Narration Mode.

Its a great software and I haven't a single problem with it.
