Does anyone know where I can get free fonts which are compatible with Microsoft Word? They should be from safe websites, and ideally, easy to download and use.

Also, if you know any such websites, if you could include a short explanation on how to download it into MS Word, that would be great.

For free fonts, take a look at the Freeware Fonts website.

http://www.freewarefonts.com

It has a large and varied collection of free fonts and dingbats for download. The fonts are sorted alphabetically and in style groups which include Sci-Fi, Graffiti, Horror, Halloween, Christmas, Retro, Stencil, Valentine, 3D and a whats New Fonts section which is updated daily.

For a complete walk thru, with help and info on downloading and installing fonts onto your PC, check out the following link

Once your fonts are installed they then become available for any programs you have on your PC that use fonts.

The list is down there.

Finish downloading and executing or unzip the folder, you're not ready to go yet; you will not find your downloaded font in any typing program. Hence, you got to go to My Computer > C: drive > search for Windows > search for Fonts > now, on a separate folder of the downloaded font file, drag it and drop into the Font's folder. Now you will find the font in any typing program such as Microsoft Word.

If I still didn't manage to make myself clear for you, help yourself with this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_byiTEl_iI on how to extract the font.

Obtained 2 free font web pages online, and download the fonts. Then extract(most likely are available rar or zip layout) these fonts into your windows > Fonts folder, after inserting them here, refresh the font folder, then reopen word.

Fonts used in MS Word are the ones found in the Fonts folder of Windows.

Half of the font files will have a readme.txt telling you to drop the .TTF or .OTF font files into c:\windows\fonts and then when you use Word or anything else there they'll be.
