I know how to make web layouts on photoshop and transfer the whole layout as one big .JPEG and use hotspots on dreamweaver for buttons. Here is a tutorial I have done and I have made the web layout http://www.talk-mania.com/showthread.php?t=27468 but I want it so when you hang over one of the big four circles it changes colour, I know it's a roll over image but how can you just select that one circle button to be the roll over image because the whole page is one big .JPEG or am I not doing the whole thing right ???

Usually you would slice up the image in to smaller images. That way you can have a rollover that doesn't affect the whole image.

If you want to keep your "1 big jpeg" method, I would change your jpeg to a gif and get a much smaller file size. In a gif you can reduce the res way down (maybe 16 all the black and white) for everywhere except your circles, then increase your res in the circle areas to your choice. This is doable by using channel masks of the circles in photoshop, then changing the res up in the "save for web". For your rollovers, make the layer to maybe 50% flat gray and pick a different layer style to change the color. Good luck

I am a website designer and promoter and I just cringe when I see someone creating a website in this fashion. I agree with the previous writer in stop what you are doing and create a site with simple tables - and stay aaway from using all graphics to 'design' a site. It won't get traffic from search engines, and to do any changes in the future could be a nightmare.

One of my clients had a site totally created in PhotoShop and when she wanted a structural change made, it cost more to do that (outsorurced to a image specialist even) than it would almost would have to recreate the whole site using conventional methods.

OMG! If I went to this web site and had to download some gigantic JPG, I'd have to find you and kick your butt. Seriously....you are NOT doing this right.

Learn to use tables with backgrounds.
