On here I attribute that kind of rude behaviour to lack of an internet etiquette, is there any, or do people feel anonymous on here? And the standard of writing too on the net is different then the everyday hand written, book read type. Not that that should excuse rude behaviour. In real life some intelligent people in this world are just annoying from time to time, and I don't know it can be constant for some and a mood thing for others that comes and goes. They have a lot to share with others but sometimes some of them want to beat others over the head when they think someone or something is useless in their opinion. And as you say, real intelligence should pride itself on the edification of those less intelligent, absolutely. Yet for some unknown reason some people get satisfaction from causing someone pain and suffering in their odd pursuit of "illuminating the truth according to them" with abusive words when instead one could challenge someone with helpful words or just avoid the conflict altogether. I have answered questions from teens on here before in order to help someone but I admit that I have read questions so poorly worded that it makes me shake my head and say "what", but then what purpose is there to insult the asker if I have no constructive words to give. Mainly my experience with the questions from teens has been that they ask some of the most heart wrenching (painful accounts of their lives) type questions that they muster the courage to spill their guts to ask on here and are worthy of decent respectful answers.
