How Do I Fix My Mac That Wont Reboot?

Question

My Mac laptop won't boot any more!!! I downloaded some updates and such and when I clicked restart it decided I need to restart. It keeps mentioning kernel in the error message that rolls down and when I go to the command + S-key it won't let me type! I've restarted a dozen times and looked everywhere for a solution. I don't want to have to reset it but I will if I have to. ( it also says Mac OS version not set)

Please only answer If you know a good deal about macs and can actually help. Thank you!

It's hard to help you at this type of forum I am not saying it bad yet there needs to be a two way communication for others to help. There is a post at Mac_Forums.com has many of the items I would suggest for you to try. The main point is how to get out of the Kernel Panic caused by and update or hardware.

UPDATE:

I am trying to help it's just I needed to know the MacBook Pro model, the OS your on, the last update, and have you replaced the RAM recently??



UPDATE 2:

Could you try to boot of the Mac in Safe Mode by doing this hold down the Shift through the boot and see if you get to the Desktop please post again, Thanks for the update.

What update did you install last? OS 10.6 or 10.5?



UPDATE 3:

After looking into it please reset your RAM remove the battery then remove the RAM and install it again. Please post update

Mine did that when I downloaded updates, I held down the off button while it was restarting (again) and it seemed to set it right, it just turned off and then on





Don't 'by' a PC it will affect your spelling
