I am trying to create a desktop entry for Lightscribe SimpleLabeler to add it to my Applications menu in Fedora 12. However, I can't seem to get the "Exec=" line to work. I realize this is a novice question, but what do I put in that field, and how do I find it?

Jaxlyne without knowing if u r on KDE or GNOME it is a bit difficult but select "customize menu" for instance in GNOME it could be something like RIGHT click on the "applications" icon select "edit or cusomize menu" then "add new entry"

Now the way to go is exactly the same as in Windows if it didnt appear in the start menu you got to link to the executable. Now where is the executable is a bit problematic to find but do use the "locate"command then point to in in the start menu.

Attempt doing a search through your filesystem for the Lightscibe program, then right click it and look at what command it actually executes, after that I believe you can right-click on the desktop and "Create Launcher"

Sorry for the suckie instructions, I have not used Fedora full time for about 2 years. Best of luck. Also right-clicking the Applications menu and clicking "Edit Menus" may work.

Maybe try out Viper OS 2 in 5 days? http://ViperAmped.com

As far as I can tell, Lightscribe SimpleLabeler is a Windows program.

Linux does not use .exe files. Linux is a different operating system altogether.

You need to install WINE or use a virtual computing environment with Windows installed in it to use this program. Or, you could find a Linux alternative for this program.
