When I try to use my control panel or properties I get a message saying it cant be done due to restrictions please contact administrator. I should be the administrator I am the only user for this computer. Does anyone know how to change these settings so I can access my control panel?

You might be the Administrator but are you using a User Account to try and access the Control Panel?

If you are, then unless the Administrator gives permission for that User Account to access the Control Panel then you can't.

You should go to Safe Mode , by tapping F8 key while ur system boots

Go to Safe Mode , and on the welcome screen how many user accounts u have , if there is another administrator account , then u might find it difficult to resolve !

Good Luck

try logging on as "Administrator" with blank password.

On the log on screen, press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys at the same time to log on as "administrator".
