I want to install ktoon because it seems fun to use but it only comes in open source. So i was wondering if there was anyway to install these open soucre files in windows XP. I know that in Mac OS X there is a program called Darwinports so i was wondering if there is anything like that for XP.

Open source just means that the source code is available. If there's a Windows binary of the program, install it. (If ONLY the source code is available, you'll need a compiler for the language the program was written in to make the binary that you install.)

Agreed with every person else, even even with the undeniable fact which you're giving them a thumbs down on a number of those solutions. until you backed up your registry, abode windows XP won't shop a "checklist" of what your registry appeared like initially. this would of course propose that reinstall discs and restoration discs at the instant are not any extra mandatory. every time you install a application, your device variations the registry and provides type identity's, and so on. are you able to image the area that your desktops HD would be eating if it have been backing those variations up everytime? abode windows registry can in ordinary terms be recovered from a backup. the two one which you have made, or the production facility one out of your CD. era.

Yes you can install open source programs on Windows XP.

Example:

- GIMP

- OpenOffice

- Avidemux

- Firefox

However ktoon can not be installed on Windows, it is currently made available to Unix-like systems (Linux) only.
