I posted this as a question b/c I know many people want to know it's answer. I located the answer on one of the many forums sites I sifted through. It is not easy to find a link to download the older version back AT ALL. Frostwire has done a great job of trying to find anywhere and everywhere the old links were and replace them with the new 5.0 version. To anyone who has actually clicked the "update to the new version, critical update"crap link that pops up when you first log into the old version then you KNOW how different 5.0 is and NOT in a good way. The newest 5.0 version strictly uses torrents and some of those torrent sites you only have 14 day trial periods to use any of their torrents anyway! There is ONE search box for all video, audio, etc., unlike the tabs you could click in the older version to get exactly what you wanted and only that. Now everything's all mixed together. Not to mention it produces much less results for whatever you search b/c it disregards the music library all the frostwire users have spent years creating and only allows you access to torrents ONLY. Anyway, if your thinking about switching to the new version DONT. And if you already made that mistake, as I did, here's the link to download the older version back. Just remove the 5.0 version in add/remove programs and then download the older version back and all will be well. And wherever you can, let people know, let FROSTWIRE know how much you HATE the new version.

Here's the link for FROSTWIRE 4.21.6 (not 4.21.8 b/c FW has turned off file sharing in that version which makes NO damn sense so just go to the next to the last older version and it works great, as always...4.21.6):

So Frostwire has switched to torrents!

There is a simple good reason for that. Torrents are still safe. (relatively)

You see the old gnutella network created by Limewire has been taken over by the record industry! So if you use the old version the record industry can get your IP address and sue you for downloading copyrited material.

But if you don't mind risking paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for pirating music, then go ahead, ignore the critical update.

Yeah, I hate 5.0 too. It doesn't delete the old version. So, I just deleted the new one. The old one still works fine.
