When I open an e-mail using Microsoft Outlook, the copy/paste functionality in the browser fades out and I'm restricted to Control C and Control V. There must be a solution that keeps the copy/paste active in the browser. What is it; why can't I find it?

Sounds like you are trying to copy from an email that you received. By default the copy and paste functionality is going to be disabled (faded out) when you attempt a copy. It thinks you are trying to copy the entire email message, not just specific content. Either try selecting content and then use the copy/paste options, or reply to the message and pull out the content you want.

You may also not be the owner of the message. If you are reading email from another persons mailbox or a public folder, you may have only Reviewer permissions to the message. Can't modify what you don't have rights to..

Finally the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V options are available almost universally in Windows. Select content in a web page, while editing a text box, or editing in Word, Ctrl+c will copy, Ctrl+v will paste, Ctrl+x will cut (or delete the selection if possible). Keyboard shortcuts will save you having to time by not having to touch the mouse each edit. shift - arrow, select content, ctrl+x to cut, use arrows (or page up/pagedown keys) to move to new location, ctrl+v to paste content in new location.

Your question is not clear..

Copy and pasting are system wide comands.. If you copy something from a browser, you can paste it in any other program that will allow pasting.. ie, your outlook application.

And vice-versa.

The commands to copy and paste are Ctrl c and Ctrl v.. what else aer you looking for?

Or you can goto Edit > copy or Edit > paste, or you can highlight text, right click on it, and select Copy or Paste..

You need to clarify your question more as to what you mean by Fades out
