Question:
im trying to install a fresh copy of windows xp professional it loads up to 85 % then gets errors!?

The errors say cannot copy file(ersvc.dll) to retry press enter
To skip press ESC
to quit Setup press F3
when i try retry or skip it comes back with same error Ive clean the disk ran a new copy and still get the same message. How do i fix this to complete the installment?

ERSvc.dll is Windows Error Reporting Service.



ERSvc.dll is a part of Microsoft® Windows® Operating System. It is possible that the Operating System CD that you have is scratched or not installing this particular part of the OS on to the Hard Disk Drive when you do the install.



I would suggest that you get hold of another CD that has XP Pro and see if you can do the re-install.



Also, as the other Answerer mentioned, check and re-seat the RAM ( and the other Expansion Cards ) if necessary, dust the insides of the computer, make sure that the Cables are all snugly connected etc.

position da. win xp cd inchronic you assert it has format da laptop ok . restart laptop with win xp inchronic and bypass reinstall win xp if it dont bypass ur ought to bypass into the reformat again then set up win xp from there coz of ur skill outage you would possibly want to do all this with win xp . cd

I think there is something wrong with your RAM.I used to work in a computer company and 9 times out of ten in such cases there was something wrong with RAM.

may be possiblethat some of the drivers or .dll files are missing.
