Hi, yeah of course u can. If u r using an Intel Dual core processor then its really easy now. If u r not then its still not that difficult. You can install Mac OS X Leopard on your pc.

There is a project called osx86 to help u install Leopard.

Just remember your computer will be called a Hackintosh from then on.

Here r the links:

If u want to try a better Unix system then why not try Linux. Mac OS X is just a Unix like system like Linux is.

You can try OpenSUSE 10.3, my favorite Linux distribution.

http://en.opensuse.org

Here is another good link for Leopard, oh yeah to everyone who thinks it isn't possible should go learn a bit about computers, after Apple moved to the intel architecture it means a Mac is now just a pc with a special chip inside that identifies it as a Mac, all u need to do is bypass that check to install on a regular pc.

Good Luck and take care!

Hi,

Your question is a bit tricky.

If you're thinking some pieces of hardware and turn your PC into a Mac, well like everybody said it here before me, you definitly can't. The fact there is an Intel ship in the new models doesn't change much : a mac is… a mac (= a pc with such a strong mac protection so you can't turn it into a regular PC).

Now, if you were thinking to replace the clunky windows by the all shinny new Os X leopard you may have some hope.

Some super geek team managed to install some hacked Os X on some PC and make them run like a Mac.

BUT ! But first, it's somehow not very legal. Next, you need a hell of experience to do it. Then your actual PC may be not strong enought to handle this hacked OS X.

And let say you managed to find this OS, download it and installed it, you will probably get bugs with your external printer and/or other devices. Final point, you won't be abble to update your system since Apple is working hard to block any developpement outside its control.

Soo… Bottom line : it's much easier to get a real mac.

There are not that expensive and come with a bunch of great softwares. Just don't buy the crappy MacBook Air.

often no longer with out hacking the OS. For some reason, Apple likes to sell pc hardware, so that they make their OS in easy terms artwork on hardware they sell, whether it now based on the Intel x86 shape. On a suitable notice, why the heck does apple like merchandising pc hardware? it is quickly transforming into an extremely unprofitable line of business enterprise as computers replace into further and extra a commodity. application is the place you are able to differentiate your self, and the place the money is.

Macs nowadays are basically PCs built to Apple specifications. The insides are pretty much the same hardware ever since the move to Intel processors over PPC. I suppose you can try this, but I wouldn't advise it.

THE MAJORITY OF THE ANSWERS HERE ARE WRONG!!! IT IS POSSIBLE TO INSTALL OSX (MAC) IN A PC USING HACKS OR USING REVERSE ENGINEERED MAC OSX.

You can do the following:

1. Get hackinstosh and install it on your PC

2. Get the OSX Disk, and use hacks to allow the disk to recognize the computer as a "mac" and continue installation.

3. Use modified or reversed engineered OSX.

4. Or... you can actually buy a mac.....

All Macs are still PCs. Mac is just short for Macintosh which is a model of Apple-brand computer.

A Mac, is a Macintosh computer from Apple. PC's are computers from Dell, HP, Gateway, etc. There is no way to turn your comp from a PC to a Mac as it is not software. They are completely diff kinds of computers. Sorry!

an emulator is probably your only bet, but be forwarned it is just that, an emulation. MAC OSX not uses pentium architecture so theoretically it should be possibly to somehow install OSX on a PC but I am unsure, this is not a typical conversion and is not reccomended unless you are very savvy with BOTH OS's

I'm pretty sure there is. My dad actually has a MAC, and he has a software that switches the features to a PC. It's too good. I'm not too sure what the name of it is, but i'll find out from my Dad. It's really cool. I highly doubt it's free, though.

For every "feature" that a MAC has, there are equivelents available for download onto a PC. And vice versa. Try download.com
