My portal 2 freezes before it gets to the main menu. How can i fix this?

Hi everyone. On my computer i just got portal 2. But when i start it, It will do the right valve screen and other makers Then it will get to the Portal 2 screen before the main menu. Then it freezes and closes. A box comes up saying portal2.exe is not responding. What can i do so i can play portal 2?

I have this problem to but I don't think it can be my hardware as my computer is very up to date



Edit: I found a solution, which worked for me but its frowned upon because its made by the guys who upload the game to torrent illegally. Its just a small patch though and it worked for me (I got the game legit I just wanted it to work) Here it is 'http://www.multiupload.com/D626FVAF89'

You install it by putting all the files in your 'Program Files\Valve\Portal 2' directory.

Unless it is actually your hardware but I don't think it is.

Your computer most likely does not meet the minimum system requirements to play Portal 2.



In relation to other VALVe games, Portal 2 is a very demanding game.

Your PC probably doesn't have adequate hardware to play the game.



* Install the latest graphics driver for your videocard

* Install all available Microsoft Updates

* Do some searches on Google or whatever search engine you use and see what you find. Surely there are others who are having the same problem as you.
