Do this:
In Word versions prior to Word 2007 (Vista):
1. Open a New document.
2. Right-click and select Font from the pop-up menu.
3. Change the font to 12 points.
4. Click the Default button.
In Word 2007:
1. Open a new document.
2. Click the Home tab on the Ribbon.
3. In the Font group, click the arrow in the lower-right-corner.
4. Continue as in Step 3, above.
Hope that helps.

Open a new document and click on Format (top of the screen) and select Font.
Change the font to the one that you like the look of, and select an appropriate size.
At the bottom of that page, click on Default.
You'll find that next time you start Word, it will be with the font and correct size that you want.

open microsoft word and click format, top right, then click on font then a window will pop out where you can change the font and the size and color and all that put what you want, then on the bottom left corner there will be a button that says default, click on it and click yes, now everytime word opens it will open with the settings you choose
