I want a program to make some trance/techno/hardstyle. I need to know a program to best fit my needs. I have Fruity Loops, but theres not many sounds to work with and its a little confusing in some areas. Whats my best bet? and if theres no sounds included with the program, where can I find some good ones that fit my genre? Thanks

I would take a look at Reason 4.0. It has a semi-hefty cost, but if you really want to get into making beats ands stuff, it's worth it.It comes with thousands of sounds, and lets you create your own. You can also use it with FL Studio via Rewire. Pretty much any band that uses a lot of beats uses it. Benny Banassi, Daft Punk, Owl City, Etc. You might want to explore some DAW's too! I take it that you are using a Windows computer because your using FL Studio. So I would check out Cubase or Sonar. But for beats and stuff just get your hands on a copy of Reason! (: I would also look into synthesizers, and a good USB Keyboard. Reason 5.0 should be coming out soon too!

Try using Samplitude by Magix. It has some great midi processors built right in and you can also record and drag and drop loops. If you're looking for something free, try Reaper. It has the same basic features, but setting up the midi instruments is pretty difficult.

I am a music producer and composer since back in the 70s. Let me tell you this:

1. There is no such thing as a free music production software, money will have to be paid. Don't download any software that claims it's free or else you will get your computer infected with a virus.

2. Anyone can make music these days, the technology allows you to make extraordinary music/beats with no skills at all

The best music production software price-features wise it's Dr Drum Beats Maker. Basically this program does what $1500 programs do but costs only $29. That's a steal. And I have to say it's the easiest program to learn. Check it out here: http://www.drdrumbeatsmaker.com
