how to convert PowerPoint slideshow (pps) into a PowerPoint presentation (ppt)?

i got a file saved as PowerPoint slideshow, however, i want to edit it.. how can i convert it into a ppt file?

Yes quite simple.



Rather than double clicking on the pps file, go into PowerPoint and then File> Open and then open the file.



As long as it has not been protected you should be able to open and edit it.

Open the file in PowerPoint, go to File > Save As, and select ".ppt" from the drop down list for "Save as type".

Or you can rename the file *.pps or *.ppsx to *.ppt or *.pptx

Simply open it and save as, changing it back to its default format, i.e. .ppt.
