Increasing font size or refreshing a pivot table can cause column widths to increase. Is there a way of stopping this and fixing the size regardless of the font or refresh of a pivot?
Thanks a lot

Hi C - I use excel alot but all I can say is once all your cells are set out just save then carry on but I do think if you increase the font size the cells automatically increase.

Most people have given you good answers, only a long way round. Easiest way to widen a column to just the right amount bearing in mind what is contained, get your mouse pointer onto the right border of the column address (i.e. the A, B etc), the mouse pointer turns to a big black 4 pronged arrow, double click and the whole column adjusts automatically. However, if you want a specific width, right button on the column address down to width and put in what you want. The normal default is I believe 8.75.

go to format, column, than width....Most of the time I just drag the column to the width I need to format my page the way I would like it to be. There is also a help button and you cn keep the guy up there and ask questions while you work. Very helpful and easy to use. Love, honey

Auto column width on Pivot refresh can be stopped by right clicking on the pivot, going to the 'Pivot Table Options' --> 'Layout & Format' tab and unchecking 'Autofit column widths on update'

yes, easily. open excel - go to-format>column>width. here you will see Column Width box. change column width as desired. You can change height of the row also.

Hello,
(ANS) YES! you can fix or protect the entire workbook or worksheet and that prevents any column or cell width changes.

In excel either drag width to size you want then go to format / cells / width / ok or format /cells / width type in size /ok

Increase them? Get them pregnant... Sorry, I have nothing of substance to offer, I just couldn't help myself though... hehe...
