pop3

assuming you are not using a corporate email account

once again even with your additional details....its pop3 and they will tell you which server to use to send mail. It will be called SMTP. That will be an option after you select POP3

First of all, open an account in Gmail (http://mail.google.com).

When you try to setup your MS Office Outlook, select POP3 and give the server details as pop.gmail.com for incoming server and smtp.gmail.com as outgoing server. You will get more details about configuration if you do a search in Google.

Yahoo also provides POP3 access, but they charge for it. Hoping that one day they will also provide it free like Google. And I can happily tell it to my husband.

it is most likely your using pop3. You will also need the name of the mail hosting server and the mail sending server (smtp server) Check with your email account provider for the necessary information. Overall, its fairly easy to set up.

Its hard to answer without knowing who you have an account with. They are all different. Also you can only set this up with a paid account. So if you have a paid account then contact them and they will tell you what it is.
