What is it and how does it work? The main reason I'm asking is because a little while ago I got a bad virus that spread to a lot of different files and my antivirus program deleted all of the infected files. One of the files it deleted has something to do with Microsoft Office, which I need for school. When I try to use any of the MS Office programs it tries to install them but it says "Error 1308. Setup cannot find the file required
C:\K12\Software\MSOffice\Files\PFiles\MSOffice\Office11\MSAccess.EXE
Check your connection to the network, or CD_ROM drive. For other potential solutions to these problem, see C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\1033\SETUP.CHM" Please and Thank you for any help.

Lol that guy posted something from wiki.

It'll restore your system to a previous date, but that implies that you have set up a restore point already.. if you don't know what it is, then you probably don't have one.

You don't have a microsoft office CD, or installation file?

You can try uninstalling it, then downloading a pirated version.. lol there's versions that don't need activation, so technically you're not cracking anything.

System Restore is a component of Microsoft's Windows Me, Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems that allows for the rolling back of system files, registry keys, installed programs, etc., to a previous state in the event of malfunctioning or failure.

The Windows Server operating system family does not include System Restore. The System Restore built into Windows XP can be installed on a Windows Server 2003 machine, although this is not supported by Microsoft.

In Windows Vista, System Restore features an improved interface and is based on Shadow Copy technology. In prior Windows versions, it was based on a file filter that watched changes for a certain set of file extensions, and then copied files before they were overwritten. The advantage of using Shadow Copy is that block-level changes in files located in any directory on the volume can be monitored and backed up regardless of their location.

System restore is somthing that can burn all the stuff that ur comp needs to work. there is a program that does it... it asks for a ton of CDs or 4 DVDs and u burn the stuff ur comp needs to turn on, open programs and simply shutdown again. if you didnt do this then u can go to a comp guy and he shound be able to fix it for you =)

(the reason u cant get into word is because the virus infected \1033\SETUP.CHM and the anti virus removed it.

A Windows utility allowing a user to restore their computer data to a specific former state, or restore point, undoing changes made since that time. System Restore periodically creates automatic restore points to protect data from unexpected problems.
