my computer is a macbook pro os x 10.5, i have an email attachment that is an excel file that was sent to me as wnmail.dat. i am unable to open it. anyone has suggestions?

or an easy way is click once on document and hit the space bar(quick look)



edit:dont worry about opening it , youre on a mac nothing bad will happen

In short, ask the sender to tweak some of the settings BEFORE sending the message. As described on an article at "http://www.askdavetaylor.com/winmaildat_attachments_are_driving_me_nuts.html", the problem resides on MS Exchange server encoding the file in a strange format.



Take a look at that article, and it will give you a good idea of what you can do to open the relevant attachment.

dont open it. if you received a file through an email, it should be an attachment



reply and ask the sender to send it correctly
