Both your Mail Merged Word Document window and your Excel data Window are open. Go to the Excel data window and make the change in the desired field. Then Save the change. When you go back to the Mail Merged Word Document window, if the change is not automatically reflected, click Refresh on the Mail Merge Recipients window. You should see the change. Changes to the data always have to be made at the data source; however, to FORMAT merged data, you must format the merge fields in the main document. Don't format the data in the data source, because its formatting isn't retained when you merge the data into the document.
