I'm using Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac and I've created a document that has a background image. I opened my Word preferences and selected the option to print background images, but then when I try to print or even export the doc as a PDF... the image does not show. How can I print this or export it as a PDF with the background image?

Typical Microsoft - always making a simple task excessively difficult to achieve when compared to other software.

As you've discovered, Word is not a page layout/DTP program - it's a word

processor :-) But it does actually have layers. They're simply not handled

in anywhere near the same way as what you're accustomed to in InD. In fact,

you've come pretty close but haven't quite hit the target :-)

"What you're looking for is View> Header and Footer. Insert the higher res

image there using Insert> Picture> From File. Set the Text Wrapping (Format>

Picture> Layout) to Behind Text and use the features of the Advanced button to

set the position of the image Relative To: Page horizontally and vertically.

When you return to the text layer the image may appear to be dimmer than you

expect but it will print as it should."

"Madelyn", you are a fake!

You are among a group of "new members" (or more likely just one member using many fake accounts) here at Yahoo Answers who have a list of questions in many categories to ask in a certain order, all starting with a very simple Mac computer software question. Then the member asks 8-10 questions, each in a different category, most are simple, such as “Is reading a wonderful human activity?”. At least one question will be about health, possibly even a pregnancy question, that could even be asked by a member with a masculine names (Evan or Boris). All of these accounts started asking their questions 3-4 days ago. All use no custom avatar (no member picture). All of these new members are registered with only a first name that is commonly used in the U.S. or Europe by Anglos.

I have sent email to the YA Team along with half a dozen member profiles to see if they can put them all together and stop this IP address from creating dozens of fake member accounts. I did this before for an IP that created dozens of fake accounts to ask questions about Brother printers, and it got nixed. So you can stop worrying about your fake pregnancy and start worrying that your account plug may be pulled.
