I've made a PowerPoint presentation I want to post on YouTube, but it has to have music with it.
Does anyone know how to do that?
I know how to insert sounds from PowerPoint, but not an actual song file. Help!

Its a very easy process!

Just follow the steps below:

Step 1

Find some music. This can be done by either finding music in your own collection or downloading it off the Internet.

Step 2

Make sure that the sound file type is supported. Most versions of PowerPoint support WAV, MP3 and MIDI.

Step 3

Insert a sound file into your presentation. Go to "Insert," then "Movies and Sounds," then "Sound From File" and choose the music file you want to play.

Step 4

Choose in the pop-up widow if you want the music to play "Automatically" or "When You Click It." If you pick "Automatically," the song will start playing when you begin the slide show. If you choose "When You Click It," you will have to click on the icon to start the music.

Step 5

Set the options of the music playback. Go to "Slideshow," then to Custom Animation" in the menu bar. Click the drop-down menu on the song and set your options.

Step 6

Make sure your timing is set right. Go to "Timing" under the drop-down menu on the song. You can set to repeat the song as well as put a delay on when the music starts.

Step 7

Check the effect options. Click on "Effect Options" under the drop-down menu for the song. Here you can set how many slides the song plays on and the volume of the song.

In PowerPoint :

1>insert the sound:

go to insert >sound>Select sound from file, Then you can select your sound from computer.

2>Set up the effect of the sound:

1. click animations tab, then click the custom animation, you can see a pop-up window.

2. Click the sound file that you want to set, Click the drop down arrow of the music item you just added from the Custom Animation list and select Effect Options.

3. A window named Play Sound displays. Select After and then set the total number of slides .Now when you select OK and exit the custom animation box, your sound will continue to play.

But YouTube doesn't accept the PowerPoint format directly. So if you want to put your PowerPoint presentation on web, so you can convert PowerPoint to video and upload PowerPoint to YouTube: There is a third tool called PowerPoint to video converter can help you.

To put a presentation to YouTube, you have to make the powerpoint a YouTube video first. Coz YouTube is a video hosting site, and it does not support a non media format like PPT, PPS, PPTX.

To make a YouTube video from your powerpoint, take such easy converters as Moyea PPT to Video Converter to convert to MP4, etc, free trial at http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/

Next, upload the PowerPoint video to YouTube with your account. It will play smooth like a video when you click the Playback button.

For more about the issue, see this post at http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/blog/youtube-and-powerpoint-embed-youtube-video-into-powerpoint-put-powerpoint-presentation-onto-youtube/
