I'm after a good program to convert DVD to H264 and it must have the option to select output size and bitrates. What's a decent program that the scene uses? Handbrake constantly crashes on Win7 64-bit, and Xvid2PSP won't allow me to select individual titles from the DVD.

Use MeGui, which is a frontend to ffmpeg: http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/

You can use DGIndex to create a D2V file which you will use, in turn with the AVS Script Creator to generate an AVS script. You can use the `Analysis` feature to automatically detect certain characteristics of the video. Especially useful about this feature is that it will `reccommend` a deinterlace method for you based on the results of the analysis.

MeGui comes with many different presets for different types of video/quality levels. You can use these presets as starting points to create your own settings, adjusting anything you want, including bitrate, number of passes, output filesize, etc...

Be sure you have the latest version of VLC installed with Handbrake as it relies on VLC to get through the copy protection.
