I've been getting these crashes more and more frequently. I'm not sure wat i can do to fix this. I have an Ibook G4 running tiger. I've deleted everything on my hard drive so it has a clean memory. I deleted the system folder and reinstalled the install discs. I ran the hardware tests and everything passed. My computer keeps crashing. What do i do now??
Thanks, Tyler

Backup all valuable documents. This advice is taught in Computers 101, first day, first ten minutes. Nothing is more important about using computers than backup.

Disconnect everything but the power cord. No need to test how the car runs while pulling a trailer.

You say "I deleted the system folder and reinstalled the install discs". Who told you to do that? I've never heard of that. How did you manage to do it? Doesn't the computer system complain when you drop the System folder in the trash?

If you have another Firewire Mac, do target disk and trash the CONTENTS of Applications, System, and Library folders. LEAVE THESE EMPTY FOLDERS. Then boot to the OS install disc, run Disk Utility repair (DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP), and then do an Archive and Install. DO NOT just install. You made a Franken-system by leaving the Library and Applications folders when you installed before. Never mix old and new OS files.

After all that is done, run Rember to test the RAM. That's the most likely hardware suspect.

Ok, initially "Typical Macs so getting a PC subsequent time a lot less expensive and larger hardware :)" is an overly retarded declaration, however I'm right here to support, no longer lecture, so I'll forget about this... for now *evil laugher* Anyway, simply upgraded as good. I have the identical obstacle (strolling 10.five.eight) SO FAR my THEORY is that you just perhaps want whatever like 10.6+ and even 10.7 however or else I do not relatively realize in view that I have not attempted something else. And additionally, its no longer for the reason that you run a mac that you've got this obstacle. Minecraft runs on Java. Java runs precisely the identical anything the **** software you run it will have to run the identical. It is "regularly" because of putting in (for example, at the same time Java runs the identical approach, the techniques don't seem to be SAVED the identical approach) Due to that, perhaps a million.eight saves techniques in an additional approach, so perhaps with ease re-putting in minecraft would difference that? (for the reason that the replace would have by hook or by crook corrupted your records) And do not blame Mac for no longer operating. Apple did not create minecraft, if it does not run good, Apple isn't accountable. Mojang is :P

The hardware test only catches so much. If you did a reinstall and it's still crashing then it's hardware. Could be a bad hard drive, a bad video card, Airport card, and so on. You'd have to dig the kernel panic dump out of the panic.log or Panic Reporter in the Console to get any clues.

Buncha pompous assclowns in here.

possible hard drive issue, as OS is installed on bad sectors, I assumed it happen while you're exploring your Mac.
