Question:
Minecraft Exception Access Violation?
2011-04-26 15:06:43 UTC
Alright so I installed Minecraft, the launcher starts up fine, I can login and then it crashes after it downloads all the .jar packages to my PC. I have a P4 2.8 GHz with 1 GB RAM and an ATI Radeon 9200. I have reinstalled JAVA, updated all my ATI drivers, tried reinstalling minecraft and also restarting my computer, all to no avail. The following error log is what comes out:

# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x693595f3, pid=4060, tid=3700
#
# JRE version: 6.0_24-b07
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (19.1-b02 mixed mode windows-x86 )
# Problematic frame:
# C [atioglxx.dll+0x3595f3]

Anyone have an suggestions? I'm out of ideas at this point.

also try this:

1. Download Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

2. Download fix: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=60704

3. Go to C://Users/You/Appdata/Roaming/.minecraft… and open Minecraft.jar

4. Go into META INF folder, and delete mojang files (NOT MANIFEST FILES!)

5. Place fix in folder, close WinRar, and enjoy!
