My computer refuses to allow me to download. This all started with my AVG free failing which I then pulled the AVG, did a restore and was going to reload AVG but now when I try to reload anything(AVG, virus scrubs..anything) the first time I tried,..after it took 10 hours to download,..sthen when I tried to run the program a box said the files were in error and I would have to download again! And now if I try to download it says server was disconnected then reconnected so it won't download. If I try to download a video at youtube, it just goes start-stop-start-stop. And when I am downloading, a little read star flashes each time the data jumps into my file, is that supposed to happen? I don't remember that happening before. I feel totally unprotected. I have no virus protection right now.

Most internet providers actually give a free anti-virus. I have had huge problems with AVG too. Try to get someone who has Comcast or whatever to download their virus protection and install that. MacAfee is the best for my time.

you must be on dial-up? if so, find a friend with high speed to download the avg and put it on a disk for you to install from. i am guessing that when you 'pulled'? the avg not everything got 'pulled' and is still sitting there trying to do something. when you do a new install, it should straighten things up.
