When inserting a slide from one PowerPoint file into another, make sure the box to keep the original file's formatting is unchecked or turned off. Otherwise the format from the original will overwrite the formatting of the destination file and remove any backgrounds, etc.

If you are just wanting an image rather than the slide with all its separate components, an option is to save the original slide as a JPG file (that slide only) and then insert the JPG (picture) file into your slide (you can increase/decrease the size by holding the shift key down and clicking and dragging a corner of the image).

This will avoid having the added complication of multiple slide masters.

if it just about the Transparent Background and you have Photoshop, then do this : 1. open the image in photoshop. 2. select 'Quick Selection' or 'Magic Wand' tool 3. select the white area (that you want to remove) 4. Press the Delete key. (you will see grey-white checkers in place of white area which means it has been deleted) 5. once done, save the file in .png format. Done!
