Every time I being a new paragraph, line, or bullet point, the bold option is automatically selected. I keep removing it each time and have searched through the settings but cannot find a solution besides the manual one I am doing. If there is an automatic way to turn this off please let me know. Thank you!

You may have enabled a paragraph style or changed the Normal style. In Word when you create a new paragraph by pressing Enter, that new paragraph has all the attributes of the paragraph it was created from.

On the Home tab you will see a Style group. See if the style changes when you start a new paragraph. In the PC version of Word you can press Shift-F1 to open the Reveal Formatting task pane. Click in different areas of the document to see what style is being used in that area.

When you open a new Word document go to the top where bold is. There is a footer that says "Font." to the right is a half square with an arrow. Click this and it should bring up a menu. In this menu, select all of the formatting you want in every document. Once done click on "Set As Default." Click "Ok" and this should solve your problem

Sounds like you've changed the Default Style to be Bold.
