Contact Packard Bell about the problem, that should occupy you for a few days.

Hi!

hal.dll is Hardware Abstraction Layer included with DirectX. Without HAL the GUI cannot be rendered (shown). Try pressing F8 just before Windows starts. From the menu select Safe Mode With Command Prompt. Then Type explorer and select to use System Restore, when prompted.

Good luck!

It is possible to install this file directly but it is rather involved. So get out your copy of windoze and boot to the install CD. Follow the instruction to reinstall the OS.

Use F12 to select the boot option (repair) if this is selection is there. If this is not an option, you will need to re-install the OS from your system recovery folder.

you mostly likely need to do a full restore stat you computer up and press f12 to sytem recover and do it you'll lose everything but it should fix the computer.

Your window has been damaged, you need to insert your windows disk and exicute a repair....NOT a format or reinstall or you will lose everything. If you dont know what your doing then get someone that does, you dont want to lose all your data.
