It's easier to use virtualization software and run one or more Linux in Windows, inside a window. Make sure your BIOS is set to allow virtualization.
VirtualBox is free, the only tricky part is installing its Tools (to share drives, hardware accelerated video driver, etc.) which require installing Linux Kernel headers first, then run the script as admin.
VMware is kinda better, but only the Player is free, which can run/modify VM's but won't create them. You should be able to find and download a pre-built Linux image or "appliance" that runs from Player.
If you're a HS or college student, you can get MS Win Server 2008 R2 Std free, which has Hyper-V. Search the word Dreamspark in Microsoft's webpage.

Only one can run at a time.
What I do is install Linux on my most recently replaced computer (since Linux needs less overhead than Windows), then I link the two computers with a KVM switch.

you can try ubuntu , insert its CD and run its autorun you'll get option at the bottom to install inside windows than select the desired drive and install it than it'll restart computer , the setup will continue after restart so you'll get it , than everytime you restart your pc at the time of booting you'll get two choices to boot windows or ubuntu.
