How can I re-enter a different product key for Microsoft Office?

Question

I got a laptop for my high school grad present (I am in college currently).My microsoft office 2007 home and student required a product key. So, I attempted to use an old one. It went through, but would not allow me to do full activation, because it said the product key had been used the maximum amount of times. So, I went out and purchased a NEW version of microsoft home and student 2007. I installed it or whatever, and it will not let me enter the NEW product key, so I am just where I started, except for now I am poorer because I evidently wasted my money. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I CAN CHANGE THE PRODUCT KEY THAT I ENTERED.... ?? PLEASE? Im dying here trying to do my homework!!!!!! GAH!

+You should have uninstalled the old one first. You can still give that a try. Go into Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall whatever MS Office 2007 you find in there. Reboot and then try to install the purchased version.

because of the fact the others have stated, it is going to installation as many situations as you prefer. The utility will understand that that's on the comparable computing gadget from the the 1st installation. P.S. i'm a registered Microsoft significant different.

Yeah, what Daryl S said, but if that doesn't work, call Microsoft. They can give you a code that will work, even if you've used that one up. Make sure you have your legal information ready.
